Osmosis: The diffusion of water through a cell membrane
Diffusion: the random movement of molecules from an area where there is more of them to an area where there is less
We used the word diffussion whichmeans the moving of molecules from high place of concentration to a low place of concentrarion. We also used the word osmsosis wich is the diffusion of water.
Passive Transport- the movement of molecules through a cell membrane without using energy
Active Transport- the movement of molecules through a cell membrane using energy
Cell: the smallest living unit of life
Tissue: a group of cells that work together
endocytosis-when something enters the cell.
exocytosis-when something exits the celll
Exocytosis is when somthing is leaving a cell.
Endocytosis is when somthing is coming in a cell
exocytosis-when something is leaving the cell.
endocytosis-when something enter's the cell.
Osmosis: When water molecules are small enough through a cell membrane
Cell: The smallest unit on life.
Tissue:group of cells that work together to complete the same task.
Organ:group of tissue working togethr to complete the same task.
Cell wall protects what is in the cell.
Cell membrane is around the cell and lets some things in and out.
Virchow - Defined that all cells are made from cells
Hooke - Discovered cells (the small basic units of life, and is know as "Father of Cells"
chloroplst:gives the enviroment the nice green color
cell membrane:made of cell molecules
Chlorophyll- the substance that makes the plant green (I know we really didn't go over this but I remember this from last year.)
Organ system- it's made out of groups of organs that make up a system such as the digestive system
Digestive System:digests and consumes the food you have already eaten. Skeleton System:works with the muscular system to give you support and helps you move around.
Golgi bodies- sort proteins and other cellular substances and package them into membrane bound structures called vesicles.
Mitochandria- is the power house of the cell.
osmosis is a passive transport of water.
A passive transport is leting in protein that a cell needs without using energy.
one thing we learned was cell wall which is a wall which protcts the plant cell.We also learned about mitchondria it makes protins
nucleus- the brain of a cell
cytoplasm- a gel-like liquid that holds the cells altogether
Endocytosis: when contents go into a cell that needs it.
Passive transport: when something can get into a cell without using energy. Without having to squeeze or push.
Endocytosis means to enter the cellmembrane. Exocytosis means to exit the cellmembrane
Organelles: multiple structures that perform different functions inside of a cell
Cell Wall: an organelle that surrounds the plant cell, which gives protection and structure for the cell.
osmosis: the process by which water difuses into the cell membrane. when i drink water my cells use the process osmosis to absorb the water.
passive transport: the process the cell membrane transports small molecules through the cell membrane. when my body produces small molecules my cell membrane transports them into the cell membrane through passive transport.
Cells- Smallest living unit
Nucleus- The brain of the cell
Cell: The smallest building lock of life.
Mitochondria: The "powerhouse" of the cell.
Chlorophyll:gives plants their green color
Ribosomes: make proteins for cells
cell-the smallest living unit
cytoplasm- the gel-like fluid that holds the cell organs
Lysosomes- The waste part of the cell.
Chromosomes- That is the DNA of the cell.
Diffusion- a molecule or more molecules moving through a membrane.
Tissue- many cells working together on one job.
Nervous system :
It controls most of your body.
The main organs are:
The spinal cord
Osmosis the diffusion of water
Exocytosis when particles or proteins leave a cell
Osmosis: the movement of an area of high molocules to an area where there are less molocules until they reach equilibrium -but the form of water- through a cell membrane.
Active transport: When a cell has to use energy to enter a/the cell membrane.
Mixture-two or more substances combined with one sometimes being dissolves
photosynthesis-the process where plants use sunlight to make sugar which is energy for the plant.
osmosis:the diffusion of water through a cell membrane
chloraplast: the cause of a plants green color and photosynthesis
Active transport-when energy is used to move something in a cell membrane
Passive transport-when energy isn't neeed to move something through a cell membrane
cell:the smallest structureul unit of an organism
Example of a cell: plant or animal cell
organ:a part of an organism made up of many tissue and does a specific function .
Example of an organ: stomach, or brain, or large intestine
eucaryotic-a cell with a nucleus
procaryotic-a cell without a nucleus
mitosis- when one cell spits apart and makes two cells
daughter cells- when the cell makes the other they are called daughter cellls
We used the word Mitochondria which means the energy in food that is stored untill it is released.
We also studied the word Ribosomes and this orgenell makes it's own proteins
Cell Membrane:gives the cell it's structure
Mitosis:divides a cell
Cell0-is the smallest unit.
Nucleus-is the boss of the cells that are in the plant and animal cells.
The Nucleus is the control system of the cell.
The Cell Wall is the mn support of the cell.
P.S the cell wall is only found in the plant cell.
diffusion- the random movement of molecules from an higher concentration to a lower concetration.
osmosis- the diffusion of water through a cell membrane.
osmosis is the diffusion of water
mitosis divides a cell
Photosynthesis-The process of plants taking in sunlight to help grow.
Osmosis-The diffusion of water.
cell-smallest living thing
nuclues-the control center of the cell
osmosis: the diffusion of water through a cell membrane.
cell:the smallest unit that can preform all the procceses of life
1.) Cells are the building locks of life and without them we wouldn't be able to function.
2.) Diffusion is the movement of molecules through a cell membrane and we need this to help us life.
osmosis: The diffusion of water through a permeable membrane.
Nucleus: The "brain" of the cell.
Osmosis- the diffusion of water
Cell- the smallest builing block of life
1) Semi-permeable Membrane- A membrane that lets certain things in.
2) Eukaryotic Cells- Cells that don't have a nucleus, I think
